Rising Nigerian influencer, content creator and digital strategist, Alimat Suleman, also known as Pride Evy has opened up about her journey of resilience, rebuilding her brand after losing her original Instagram account with over a million followers.
Known for her high-energy campaigns and influential work in promoting Nigerian music and pop culture, Evy faced a significant setback when her account, the hub of her digital presence, was unexpectedly lost.
Reflecting on the experience, Evy described it as “heartbreaking and overwhelming,” and admitted she initially thought about giving up.
However, thanks to the support of industry colleagues, especially music mogul Don Jazzy, she found the strength to start again. Don
Jazzy, a longstanding supporter and collaborator, stepped in with invaluable encouragement.
He helped reignite her visibility on Instagram by featuring her in his posts and supporting her efforts to reconnect with her audience.
“Don Jazzy has been more than just a mentor; he’s been my lifeline during this rebuilding phase,” Evy shared.
“He reminded me of my own value and helped me find new ways to engage and grow, even from scratch.”
Evy’s influence in the Nigerian music industry is undeniable. She has led digital campaigns for major songs like Rema’s “Charm,” Oxlade’s “Ku Lo Sa,” and Adekunle Gold’s “Rodo,” where her strategic and creative approach has consistently brought artists closer to fans.
But beyond the statistics and reach, Evy says it’s her authenticity and her commitment to bringing Nigerian music to global audiences that drives her work.
“I’ve had to work twice as hard, but Don Jazzy’s support has given me the boost I needed to not only recover but to evolve,” she said.
Since her return, Evy has expanded her platform beyond Instagram, diving into projects like a new YouTube vlog and exploring ways to translate her influence into new ventures.
Reflecting on her career, Evy notes that what began as a childhood hobby—dancing, dressing up, and connecting with people online—has transformed into a livelihood that supports her and her family.
“Earning a living from what I love is a blessing,” she said. “And despite the challenges, I’m grateful every day that I get to do this.”
Evy is also candid about the pressures of constantly being in the spotlight, especially as a female influencer in a male-dominated industry.
“There’s a lot of pressure to stay relevant, and as a woman, I often have to work twice as hard for recognition,” she admitted.
“But with the support of people like Don Jazzy and a strong network, I’m finding ways to thrive while staying true to myself.”
