A testimony shared by a young Nigerian man about his relocation to the United Kingdom has generated mixed reactions online after clips from a session at the Next Level Prayer conference of Harvesters Church circulated on social media.
The speaker, identified as David, recounted how he secured admission for a Master’s degree programme in the UK and navigated challenges during the visa application process. His testimony, delivered during a church session linked to the conference, has since attracted varied reactions online.
According to David, he received admission in May and began processing the required relocation documents, including the Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS), a key requirement for international students applying for study visas in the UK.
He explained that the process required proof of funds and other supporting documentation. To meet the financial requirement, he deposited funds in a UK bank account and submitted his CAS application in August.
However, the application was initially not approved after the institution raised questions regarding aspects of the documentation. David said the development required him to move the funds to a Nigerian account and restart the process within a 28-day financial verification period.
“I was shocked and very scared because my school resumption date was October 13,” he said during the testimony.
David said the pressure of raising the funds again almost made him abandon the process, but encouragement from his mother and continued prayers motivated him to proceed.
According to him, the situation changed the following week after the application was resubmitted. His agent later informed him that both his CAS and visa had been approved.
“I remember telling my agent that I didn’t know how it would happen, but I wanted my visa,” he said. “By the first week of October everything was approved.”
Following the circulation of the testimony online, social media users expressed varied reactions. While some described the account as a story of perseverance, others focused on the speaker’s appearance and manner of speaking. Some commenters also urged viewers to pay more attention to the message of the testimony rather than personal attributes.
