A wave of emotional reactions has swept across Nigeria following a viral video showing billionaire cleric, Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin, extending support to the family of Oghenemene, a young man reportedly killed by a police officer identified as ASP Usman Nuhu.
In the widely circulated footage, the founder of Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry was seen visiting the bereaved family alongside members of his team. The visit, described by observers as both symbolic and impactful, included financial assistance and welfare support aimed at easing the burden of the grieving household.
The tragic circumstances surrounding Oghenemene’s death have already ignited outrage and renewed scrutiny of policing standards in Nigeria. However, Prophet Fufeyin’s intervention has shifted part of the national conversation toward compassion, responsibility, and the role of influential figures in times of crisis.
Social media platforms have since been flooded with mixed but largely positive reactions. While critics and supporters continue to debate the cleric’s public persona, many acknowledge the significance of the outreach.
