Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti, has increased the bounty for anyone who volunteers information that could lead to the arrest of the killers of the five soldiers at Obikabia junction, Aba, from the former sum of N25 million to N30 million.

Unknown gunmen had shot dead five soldiers and burnt two patrol vans at a military checkpoint at Obikabia junction, Ogbor Hill, Aba.
The Governor had earlier placed a N25 million bounty to anyone who can volunteer useful information about the killers of the five soldiers.
Otti announced the increase during the meeting he had with the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshall Hasan Abubakar, Commander, 14 Brigade Ohafia, Brigadier General O.O. Diya, and other top military officers at his residence at Umuehim Nvosi in Isiala Ngwa South council area.
He vowed that Abia under his watch will not be a safe haven for terrorists, killers, kidnappers and other criminals.
While commending the military officers for their efforts in maintaining law and order in the state, Otti disclosed that the N5 million increase in the bounty was made available through a donation by an indigene of the state resident in the United States of America.
