Nigerian Navy Marines, working alongside troops of the 403 Amphibious Brigade of the Nigerian Army under Operation Hadin Kai, have reportedly neutralised 34 Boko Haram terrorists during separate offensive operations in the Lake Chad area.

The first operation was conducted on October 28, 2026, when the Navy Marines launched an offensive against terrorist elements. Initial reports put the number of terrorists killed at eight, but a subsequent Battle Damage Assessment revised the figure to 28.
In a separate operation on October 30, the Marines carried out a precision strike on an identified Boko Haram enclave in Dumba, following Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions that tracked and monitored the suspected terrorist positions.

A preliminary assessment indicated that approximately six terrorists were neutralised during the strike, while several others reportedly sustained injuries.
The military noted that the casualty figures remain subject to further verification as operational assessments continue.
It added that the newly established Navy Marines have strengthened joint military operations in the Lake Chad region, enhancing efforts to target terrorist hideouts, disrupt their activities and restrict their freedom of movement.
The Nigerian Navy reaffirmed its commitment to sustained offensive operations and intelligence-led engagements in support of ongoing efforts to weaken terrorist networks and restore peace and stability in the North-East.
