Family Announces Burial Arrangements for Deaconess Olateju Oluwo as Ibadan Prepares for Final Farewell
Ibadan, Nigeria — The family of Deaconess Olateju Oluwo has announced the burial arrangements for the late church leader and matriarch, who passed away on December 19, 2025, at the age of 66.
Born on May 30, 1959, Deaconess Oluwo was described by family members as a devoted Christian, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and community figure whose life was dedicated to faith and service.
According to the official funeral notice released by the family, a wake keep will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. at Ibadan Zone 1 (Zonal Church), before Ijokodo Junction, Sango, Eleyele Road, Ibadan. Attendees are requested to wear a touch of purple.
The interment ceremony is scheduled for Friday, March 20, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at All Soul Rest Park, Ologuneru, Ibadan, Nigeria. A funeral procession will depart from Polo Club Axis at 10:00 a.m. Guests are expected to wear white.
Family representatives noted that the events will celebrate her life and legacy of faith, compassion, and service to her community.
