Bayern Munich forward Michael Olise is set to earn his first call-up to the French national team ahead of the upcoming international break.
According to The Daily Mail, France’s coach, Didier Deschamps, is considering including the 22-year-old in the senior squad.
Olise, who is also eligible to represent Nigeria, Algeria, and England due to his Nigerian father, French-Algerian mother, and English birth, was part of the French team that won silver in men’s football at the Paris 2024 Olympics, scoring two goals and providing five assists.
In 2021, he was named as a standby for Nigeria’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin and Lesotho under former manager Gernot Rohr.
Olise’s standout performance for Crystal Palace last season led to a £52 million move to Bayern Munich, where he joined Vincent Kompany’s squad.
