The National Youth Council of Nigeria, Europe Chapter has appointed Honourable Ken Ugorji as youth coordinator in the Scandinavian countries.
The governor of the group in Europe, Collins Idahosa stated this during a chat with Vanguard on the activities of the council in the last few months.
He said the appointment of Ken Ugorji will impact positively on the youth in that part of Europe, describing Ugorji as a seasoned journalist, businessman, and politician with a long history of public service and community leadership.
Idahosa said, for ease of administration, Ugorji will oversee and coordinate youth development activities in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Iceland, Finland and give timely report to the Governor.
Ugorji is the CEO and publisher of Echo Magazine International, a leading African magazine in Sweden that organizes award ceremonies recognizing Africans for their positive impact on society. He has made significant contributions to journalism, especially in guiding Africans on immigration law and providing essential information about studying abroad.
In his political career, Ugorji was elected as a councillor in the Pontedera Local Government Council, Italy, from 2004 to 2008. During this time, he also served as the president of the Nigerian Community in Italy, advocating for the rights and interests of Nigerians and Africans living abroad, ensuring that African cultures and rights are respected. Through his town hall meetings, he enlightens Africans on Scandinavian laws, emphasizing the need to respect them. Currently, he holds the position of Public Relations Officer for the Nigerian in Diaspora Sweden Chapter, where he continues to support and represent the Nigerian community. Recently, he was appointed as the Commissioner for the National Youth Council of Nigeria to the Scandinavian countries, a role in which he will further his dedication to youth development and empowerment.
Honourable Ugorji is highly respected for his commitment to addressing the problems faced by Africans, offering guidance and support to ensure their successful integration and advancement in their respective countries.
