As Christians around the world celebrate Easter Monday, the President of Women in Maritime Africa (WIMA) Nigeria, Mrs. Nwaeze Theodora, has delivered a stirring message of renewal, resilience, and purpose—calling on women across the maritime sector to rise above challenges and embrace new opportunities in the blue economy.
In a message marked by reflection and inspiration, Mrs. Nwaeze Theodora emphasized the enduring significance of the resurrection of Jesus Christ as a symbol of hope, victory, and new beginnings. She urged members and stakeholders of WIMA Nigeria to draw strength from the season, especially in navigating the evolving demands of the maritime industry.
According to her, Easter is more than a religious celebration—it is a powerful reminder that adversity can be overcome and that every setback carries the potential for a stronger comeback.
Addressing women in maritime, she highlighted the critical role they play as drivers of growth and sustainability within the blue economy. She encouraged them to remain steadfast, purposeful, and confident in their contributions, despite existing barriers in the sector.
“This season calls us to renewed strength and deeper purpose,” she noted, urging members to rise above limitations and uncertainties both professionally and personally.
Reaffirming the organization’s commitment, the WIMA Nigeria President outlined its continued focus on empowerment, innovation, collaboration, and national visibility. She stressed that these pillars remain essential in ensuring that women in the maritime space are not only equipped but also recognized and given opportunities to thrive.
Mrs. Nwaeze concluded her message by wishing members peace, joy, and abundant blessings, while encouraging them to continue being agents of change and excellence.
Her closing words, “Fair winds and rising tides,” echoed a sense of optimism and forward momentum for women navigating the waters of Africa’s maritime industry.
