ALLEGED “CAMEROON AYRA STARR” JOLI REACTS, CLAIMS NIGERIANS ARE “NOT GOOD PEOPLE” AFTER VIRAL COMPARISON DEBATE

Cameroonian singer Joli has finally reacted to the viral online conversation that has dominated both Cameroonian and Nigerian social media spaces over the past few days after fans began calling her the “Cameroon Ayra Starr.”

The controversy started after her trending song “Mule Makossa Remix” featuring Locko gained massive attention online, leading to heated comparisons between the fast-rising Cameroonian star and Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Ayra Starr.

Following the reactions and backlash from some Nigerians in the comment sections, Joli appeared visibly displeased, claiming that “Nigerians are not good people” after reading several negative comments targeted at her during the debate.

However, despite the growing online tension, the singer made it clear that she has absolutely no issue with Ayra Starr personally.

According to Joli, she is simply “Joli, the Cameroonian star,” while Ayra Starr remains “Ayra Starr, the Nigerian star.” She further described the Nigerian singer as her “girl,” her “sister,” and someone she respects, urging fans not to create unnecessary animosity between both artists.

The Cameroonian entertainer also used the moment to continue promoting her now-viral record “Mule Makossa Remix,” the exact song that sparked the cross-border conversation currently dominating entertainment discussions across X and Instagram.

Meanwhile, social media remains divided. While many Cameroonians are proudly backing Joli and celebrating her growing influence, some Nigerians continue to argue that the comparison to Ayra Starr is unnecessary.

One thing, however, is becoming increasingly clear: the “Cameroon Ayra Starr” narrative has successfully pushed Joli further into the center of African entertainment conversations.
