AT least, two persons were reportedly killed at Issele-Azagba community, Aniocha North Local Government Area, Delta State, after they were struck by lightning.
The incident occurred at about 2 p.m. on Tuesday, following a torrential rain fall that was accompanied by thunder and lightning.
It was learnt that about 13 youths were playing football game at Osemeke Primary School field in the community when the incident occurred.
One of the victims is said to be a Point of Service, POS, operator in the community.
A survivor of the lightning strike simply identified as Sunday is said to be in critical condition and has been admitted in a hospital in Asaba.
Contacted on Wednesday, Police Public Relations Officer of the State Police Command, Mr. Bright Edafe, could however, not confirm the incident, saying “we heard the rumour but it was not reported in any of our divisions.”
