June 12: Make democracy count for Nigerians – IPAC tells FG
ABUJA – The Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has urged the government to address the socio-economic and security challenges facing the country, and to implement people-oriented policies to make democracy meaningful to Nigerians.
In a statement marking the 25th anniversary of Nigeria’s democracy, IPAC National Chairman, Alhaji Yusuf Mamman Dantalle, called on the government to revive the economy, cut the cost of governance, and ensure the security and welfare of citizens.
Dantalle commended the country’s progress since the return to democracy in 1999, but noted that more needs to be done to deepen democracy and improve the lives of Nigerians.
