The drive to strengthen maritime safety and improve navigation across Nigeria’s territorial waters received a fresh boost as the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) and the National Hydrographic Agency intensified collaboration on the use of locally developed nautical charts and hydrographic solutions.
This renewed commitment emerged during a working visit by the Hydrographer of the Nation, Rear Admiral Olumide Fadahunsi, to the management of NIMASA, where both agencies stressed the importance of accurate hydrographic information in securing Nigeria’s maritime domain and enhancing operational efficiency within the sector.
Rear Admiral Fadahunsi commended NIMASA for its sustained commitment to maritime development and safety, while assuring the Agency of the National Hydrographic Agency’s continued support in delivering critical hydrographic services to the nation’s maritime industry.
