Igbos in Benin City Endorse Monday Okpebholo, Vow Never to Support PDP Again
In a significant boost to his gubernatorial campaign, Monday Okpebholo has secured the endorsement of the Igbo community in Benin City. During a campaign rally held on Friday, 23rd August 2024, the community expressed their full support for Okpebholo, citing their dissatisfaction with the current administration and the unmet promises of the past.
The Igbos in Benin City have long felt abandoned, particularly in terms of infrastructure development. Their grievances stem from the broken promises made by Governor Godwin Obaseki during his 2020 campaign, where he assured the construction of critical roads in their communities.
