Doyin David has revealed that despite her outspoken personality and firm relationship standards, she is willing to be submissive to the right man.
The reality TV star made the disclosure during her appearance on “Thanks For Coming”, the dating-themed talk show hosted by Grand Prince Ita, where she spoke candidly about her love life, relationship expectations and personal values.
Known for her bold and unfiltered opinions since her time on Big Brother Naija, Doyin said she often leaves people feeling intimidated.
“I make most people nervous, so I’m not surprised you are nervous,” she told the show’s host with a smile.
Speaking on her current relationship status, the reality star admitted she has not been actively dating in recent months, describing Nigeria’s dating scene as increasingly challenging.
“It’s been a minute, to be honest. A couple of months ago. Dating in Nigeria these days is extreme sports. It’s hectic,” she said.
Despite her confident public image, Doyin said she is open to being vulnerable in a relationship with the right partner, stressing that submission is not out of the question if she finds someone deserving.
“I will be submissive for the right man,” she said.
Explaining what she considers important in a relationship, Doyin said attentiveness and a willingness to make positive changes stand out as major green flags.
“Do I feel like you listen to me? When I complain about something, do you make changes? That’s it for me,” she said.
The media personality also criticised what she described as the tendency of some men to focus on sex before taking the time to know a woman as a person.
“Most times when a guy meets a girl, it’s very easy for them to sexualize her. What’s sex going to look like with this person, without getting to know the person. Sex is important to me, but I’m a whole human being outside of my vagina,” she said.
Doyin’s comments, particularly her statement that she would be submissive for the right man, have since sparked conversations on social media, with many debating modern relationship roles and expectations.
